About the Author
Pat Williams is the senior vice president of the NBA s Orlando Magic. As one of America s top motivational, inspirational, and humorous speakers, he has addressed employees from many of the Fortune 500 companies and the Million Dollar Round Table. He has been a featured speaker at two Billy Graham Crusades and two Peter Lowe Success Seminars. He has also spoken at many university campuses.
After serving for seven years in the United States Army, Pat spent seven years in the Philadelphia Phillies organization, two as a minor league catcher and five in the front office. He also spent three years in the Minnesota Twins organization. Since 1968, he has been affiliated with teams in Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia, including the 1983 World Champion 76ers, and now the Orlando Magic, which he co-founded in 1987 and helped lead to the NBA finals in 1995. Twenty-three of his teams have gone to the NBA playoffs and five have made the NBA finals. In 1996, Pat was named as one of the 50 most influential people in NBA history by a national publication.

Awesome--for any coach to read

Having been a coach to a girls softball team, I can see why 21 combinations are needed to be applied to the daily regiment of coaching. But, I can also see why the 21 combinations are needed to be applied if you are a teacher, manager, mom and a dad. This book is a guide to 21 ways to increase your awareness into what it takes to be a coach on the field and a coach in the household. Through the real stories shared by the author, and the stories shared by other coaches I can see that there are so many tributaries needed in ones life in order to achieve greatness. In one section it is about preparation the next it is about talent, the next it is about team and one also on communicate.. With all 21 anyone who is willing to put these to the test, will unlock the doors and will be guiding others to greatness. I enjoyed this book very much and are going to share this with my fellow coaches.

The author, Pat Williams, is an amazing figure that is highly respected in the world of sports. In "The Winning Combination" Pat Williams is able to bring together all the leadership experience he was able to acquire throughout his journey in the sports world.
