I'm sorry. I've just begun research about this translation, so I don't have much to say. It seems to be based an English OT and and English NT (ASV) which was then altered using the iriginal languages ( Majority Text - Hebrew and USB4 - Greek ). Efforts were made to modernize language without sacrificing meaning. That's not completely optimal to me, but I'm not opposed. I recommend HCSB and ESV for modern English texts that we're translate directly from the original languages.
I had to write this review, however, because of what I saw written here about it being a Satanic text. I'm not a big fan of the NIV, but I would never call it Satanic or condemn anyone for using it. Watch out for KJV-only people who twist about small things to make them seem larger. The other commentator needs to do a little more research about the word Lucifer. It is a Latin word used in the Latin Vulgate (Bible Translation) that means "shining one" in Latin. The fact that this translation uses "morning star" does not make it satanic.

Not the Bible

The number of alterations to the Word of God in NEW HEART ENGLISH BIBLE is astonishing. Like other satanic versions of the Bible, such as the NIV, this piece of trash completely deletes Lucifer's name in Isaiah 14:12 and replaces it with Jesus' title of Morning Star as seen in Revelation 22:16. Authors Mitchell and Harness have effectively declared Jesus to be Satan. The Hebrew word used in Isaiah 14:12 is Haylel, properly translated in the King James Bible as Lucifer. Haylel does not, in any way, shape or form, mean Morning Star. Run for your very life away from this book.
Stick to the King James Version if you want to know what God said, instead of what men want God to say. Try "The Word Unchained King James Bible" here on Amazon.
